Welcome to dvlocal. By creating an account or using dvlocal in any way, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them — they're short, and we wrote them in plain English.

What dvlocal is

dvlocal is a free community platform for the Deerfield Valley in Vermont. It exists to help year-round residents find groups, discover events, and stay connected with people in their community. There are no ads, no subscription fees, and no paid features.

Who can use dvlocal

dvlocal is intended for residents of and visitors to the Deerfield Valley area, including Wilmington, West Dover, Dover, Marlboro, Whitingham, Jacksonville, Readsboro, and Searsburg. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Your display name on dvlocal is your first name and last initial — no full names or contact information are shown publicly by default.

Acceptable use

dvlocal is a community resource. You agree not to use it to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other members
• Post spam, advertisements, or commercial solicitations
• Share illegal content or content that violates others' rights
• Impersonate another person or create false information
• Use automated means to scrape or extract data from the platform
• Interfere with the operation of the platform or its servers

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion.

Groups and events

Anyone can create a group or event on dvlocal. Group organizers and event creators are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information they post and the conduct of their groups and events. dvlocal is a directory and communication tool — we are not a party to, sponsor of, or responsible for any events, gatherings, or activities organized through the platform.

Your content

When you post content on dvlocal (group descriptions, event details, etc.), you retain ownership of it. You grant dvlocal a limited license to display that content on the platform and in notifications to other members. We will not use your content for advertising or sell it to third parties.

No warranties

dvlocal is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the platform running reliably, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that all information posted by users is accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, dvlocal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including any events or activities you learn about through dvlocal.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know via the email address on your account. Continued use of dvlocal after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
