Privacy Policy

dvlocal is a free community platform. We collect the minimum information needed to run the platform and we use it only for that purpose. We don't sell your data, show you ads, or share your information with third parties for marketing. Here's what we actually do:

What we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your first name and last initial (displayed publicly in the community)
• Your email address (used only for account authentication and notifications you request)
• Your town in the Deerfield Valley (optional, helps us understand the community)

As you use dvlocal, we also store records of the groups you follow, events you RSVP to, and notification preferences you set. We use standard web server logs to monitor platform health and diagnose errors.

How we use it

We use your information to:

• Display your name in the community context (group membership, RSVPs)
• Send email notifications about events and groups you've opted into
• Send event reminders before events you've RSVPed to
• Allow group organizers to contact attendees about their events
• Maintain platform security and prevent abuse

That's it. We don't build profiles, track behavior for advertising, or share data for commercial purposes.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not show you ads. We do not share your information with third-party marketers. We do not run analytics platforms that track your browsing across the web. We do not send you marketing email — only transactional notifications you've opted into.

Third-party services

dvlocal uses a small number of third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your account data and platform content is stored on Supabase-hosted infrastructure.
• Resend — our email delivery service. Your email address is passed to Resend solely to deliver notifications you've opted into.
• Vercel — our hosting provider. Standard web request logs may be retained per their policies.

Each of these providers has their own privacy policies governing how they handle data in the course of providing their services to us.

Email notifications

You control what email you receive. You can adjust notification preferences per group from your account page, or unsubscribe from all notifications at any time using the link in any email we send. We will only email you about things you've explicitly signed up for.

Your rights

You can update your account information at any time from your account page. If you'd like to delete your account and have your data removed, email us at hello@dvlocal.com and we'll take care of it promptly.

Children's privacy

dvlocal is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll notify you via the email address on your account before the changes take effect.
